Summary of Responsibilities
The Housing Authority is responsible for the following, according to Section 3 of Chapter 121B of the Massachusetts General Laws:
  • Clearance of substandard, decadent or blighted open areas
  • The provision of housing for families or elderly persons of low income
  • Land assembly and redevelopment projects, including the preservation, restoration or relocation of historical buildings
