Please call the Senior Center at 508-278-8622 to reserve your meal and also to arrange for transportation to lunch and for medical appointments.

Van transportation begins at 10:30 am each day. Please check with the Senior Center, Uxbridge Cable Station or the Council on Aging website for the Lunch Menu.

The Senior Center is a drop off site for the People
First Food Pantry.  Donations are accepted Monday through
friday from 9am-4pm.

SENIOR CENTER WISH LIST –If you would like to donate a $5 (or more) gift card for our Baggy Tuesday game it would be greatly appreciated. Seniors can use gift cards from Hannaford’s, CVS, Walmart or Dunkin Donuts for food and medications.
The Senior Center would greatly appreciate any donations of all-purpose spray cleaner for the tables, sugar and Splenda packets, foam cups, stirrers, cascade for the dishwasher, dish detergent, sponges, napkins, paper towels and decaf and regular coffee.  These things are not covered in the budget. We thank you very much for your help.

DID YOU KNOW THAT WE TAKE SENIORS ON SHOPPING TRIPS TO HANNAFORDS AND WALMART?  Every Tuesday morning starting at 8:30am pick-up begins for the weekly trip to Hannaford’s.  You can go to Wal-Mart on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month.  Pick-up for Wal-Mart begins at 12:30pm.  Please call the Senior Center at 508-278-8622 to sign up for these trips.

During the winter if the Uxbridge Schools are closed because of bad weather there will not be any lunch served or medical runs.

MOBILE OPTICAL SHOP COMING TO UXBRIDGE – Lisa Trainor, the optician from Anywhere Optical will be at the Uxbridge Senior Center on the first Wednesday of each month starting on November 6, 2013 from 11:30am – 12:30pm discuss the services they provide.

Free classes on computers, I phones, I pads, tablets, etc
are meeting every Thursday  from 3:00 to 4:00pm. They are taught by students from Nipmuc High School. Please call the Senior center at 508-278-8622 to register.

LUNCH AND LEARN ON THE FIRST FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH WITH POLICE CHIEF LOURIE – Chief Lourie will be at the Senior Center on the first Friday of every month to bring a safety program to the seniors. The program will begin on Friday, January 3 with safety tips from the Chief and an FBI agent.  On Friday, February 7, 2014 Liz Hadad from the District Attorney’s office will be here with the Chief to discuss Scams.  She will play an interactive bingo game.

FREE INCOME TAX PREPERATION – Starting on Monday, February 3, 2014, two representatives from AARP will be at the Senior Center every Monday morning until April 7,2014 to help people prepare their income tax.
You must call 508-278-8622 to make an appointment.  Appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.  Please bring the following to your appointment:
Your SSA 1099, a photo ID, last years return, and your Social Security card. If you will be applying for the Circuit Breaker tax refund, you will need to bring your real estate tax bill and your water bill. To get the Circuit Breaker tax refund your real estate taxes and half of your water bill must be greater than 10% of your total income.

FALLON TOTAL CARE – Fallon Total Care is a Medicare-Medicaid Plan that coordinates your medical and prescription benefits. It provides personalized care through one plan. A team of doctors, nurses, social workers and other health care professionals work together with you to build a care plan that’s right for you. Fallon Total Care is for people age 21 – 64 who live in the service area and have Medicare Parts A and B and MassHealth Standard or CommonHealth.

APPOINTMENTS WITH DR. BIANCOMANO - The Doctor will be at the Senior Center on Monday, January 27, 2014 to exam feet.  Call the Center to make an appointment between 8:30 and 9:30am.

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR FRIENDS WHO HAVE HELPED TO MAKE OUR SENIOR CENTER A GEM IN THE BLACKSTONE VALLEY!  - Again we would like to thank the people who help us at the Senior Center. Thank you to:
  • Mrs. Plasse and her class for baking cookies for First Night.
  • Pat Lozeau for baking the First Night cake and Barbara Tognacci for cookies.
  • The Seniors who donated $189 to help the people of the Philippines.
  • The Eldery Connection and all the people who supported us by buying tickets for our big drawing.  All the proceeds will help offset the cost of our new medical car.
  • Sharon Bickford for her help on first night and for all she does to help the seniors in Uxbridge
  • Deb Hudgins for entertaining us at our Christmas luncheon.
  • Dave Moriarty for being the best Santa at our party.
  • Cullen and Liam Morowski for entertaining us with ballroom dancing at our New Year’s Luncheon.
