Support Services (including Food)

If you or a loved one is struggling, know that there are many resources available to you to help get through this difficult time.

  • Massachusetts 2-1-1 is at 24/7 hotline providing real-time COVID-19 guidance on prevention, symptoms, treatment, testing and travel.  Multiple lanaguages are supported. Residents with questions should dial 2-1-1 from any landline or cellphone. Callers dialing 2-1-1 will hear an automated menu of options. Callers press 2-6 for coronavirus. Residents can also reach 2-1-1 through a live chat option on their website.
  • People First Food Pantry provides food assistance and personal care items for residents of Uxbridge.  If you need assistance, they can be reached at 508-278-5506.  If you are interested in donating, visit our Donation and Volunteer link.
  • Project Bread's FoodSource Hotline.  If you are having trouble affording food, call the FoodSource Hotline at 1-800-645-8333 (TTY: 1 (800) 377-1292).  Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 7:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.
  • Massachusetts "Get Help" Resources:
  • Uxbridge Senior Center  Please call to book an appointment if you need assistance with applications or in need of outreach services. Transportation is available for your medical appointments, please call ahead to book your ride. Please call the Center at 508-278-8622 for more information or if you have any questions, concerns or are in need of support. 
  • Uxbridge Local Board of Health is here to assist with health and human service questions.  You can contact the Uxbridge Board of Health at 508-278-8600 x8 or email boh@uxbridge-ma.gov.  We will be checking email and answering phones outside of business hours as well. 
  • Mental Health Resources:
    • CDC's Manage Anxiety & Stress with COVID-19 is a webpage with resources for anyone experiencing anxiety or stress associated with COVID-19.
    • Disaster Distress Helpline, 1-800-985-5990, is a 24/7, 365-day-a-year, national hotline dedicated to providing immediate crisis counseling for people who are experiencing emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster, including disease outbreaks like COVID-19. This toll-free, multilingual, and confidential crisis support service is available to all residents in the United States and its territories.
    • Get Help – Samaritans.  Call or text Samaritans’ 24/7 statewide Helpline at 877-870-4673. Whatever the reason, you will get help from a trained volunteer offering non-judgmental support on suicide prevention, mental health, and/or coping with loss/grief. Their crisis Helpline based in Massachusetts is confidential and free.  If you feel more comfortable using a chat service, Lifeline Crisis Chat is available 24/7.
    • Advocates Crisis Intervention: 800-640-5432 If you are experiencing a mental health or emotional crisis, please call to speak to an Advocates crisis clinician. They are available to help 24 hours a day, every day.
    • CALL2TALK: 508-532-2255 OR TEXT C2T TO 741741 Mental health, emotional support, and suicide prevention program run by Mass211. It operates 24/7 and provides confidential, compassionate listening to assist people – including those who may be considering suicide – during stressful times.
  • CVS Health is open and senior (60+) hours are 8-9AM everyday.  Starting March 9th, CVS Pharmacy will waive charges for home delivery of prescription medications, which will help patients avoid visiting their local CVS Pharmacy for refills or new prescriptions.  Aetna will offer 90-day maintenance medication prescriptions for insured and Medicare members.  CVS Caremark is working with all PBM clients to waive early refill limits on 30-day prescription maintenance medications.
