Notice of Ongoing Work - Stormwater Outfall Inspections and Sampling
NOTICE OF ONGOING WORK
June 16, 2020
RE: Stormwater Outfall Inspection & Sampling Work
To continue essential infrastructure inspections, the Town of Uxbridge may be working in your neighborhood throughout June 2020. A hired consultant, Tighe & Bond, will be visiting stormwater outfall pipes across town. “Outfalls” are the end of the pipe where municipal drainage flows into nearby water bodies, wetlands, or low-lying areas. These inspections are part of Uxbridge’s Stormwater Management Program to meet Clean Water Act requirements.
Our team will consist of 2 to 3 people wearing safety vests and carrying handheld equipment. The consultant will be using personal vehicles used for travel, and they will have a sign in the windshield of all vehicles indicating that the car is associated with a consultant supporting the Department of Public Works. The work will be performed primarily off the roadway where the stormwater pipes discharge to wetlands, streams, or wooded areas. Work may include opening manhole structures within the street.
You are not required to take any action; this notification is to keep you informed.
