Chief William B. Albin
With deep sorrow I am writing to announce the passing of Retired Chief William B. Albin. He passed last night with family and friends (of course firefighters) at his side. It is an understatement to say that he served the Uxbridge Fire Department, the Town of Uxbridge, and the fire service with distinction. Appointed a firefighter in 1945 and retiring on January 3rd, 1992. He was our Chief from 1973 thru 1992 when he retired. For many, it was an honor and pleasure to work for him. Chief Albin (known by many as “Junie”) was a man that modeled leadership, commitment, and compassion as he selflessly served the community. His activities in the fire service spanned much further than the Town of Uxbridge, as he was well known for his accomplishments throughout Massachusetts. Junie passes on a legacy for many of us in the fire service to strive for.
He will be missed!
